Experience the highlights of the USA on four wheels
With an area of around 9.8 million square kilometres, the USA is one of the largest countries in the world. So it is unlikely that you will be able to cover everything in one holiday, but in any case it makes sense to travel to the USA with a campervan. So you can combine many highlights within a few weeks.
Each region of the USA has different attractions, climate zones and vegetation in store for you. The northeast, which borders Canada in the north, boasts New York and Washington D.C., two major world metropolises. Since the two cities are only a few hours' drive apart, you can visit famous sights such as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and the White House in no time at all. But you can also find natural attractions here: The famous Niagara Falls in the state of New York are a spectacular natural wonder.
If you want to travel by campervan through the USA, the Midwest is also a good destination. It spans from the state of Ohio via Illinois to Minnesota and North Dakota. The heart of the USA is very agricultural and gives you the opportunity to dive into the typical "American Way of Life". Cities such as Chicago and Detroit beckon with attractions, while Route 66 invites you on an extensive road trip.
If the Wild West appeals to you, you should travel to the south of the USA - Texas, the most populous state, offers you a real ranch adventure. In the southeast, Florida boasts stunning sandy beaches, while music lovers will get their money's worth in the jazz and blues stronghold of New Orleans. The West is no less versatile: Las Vegas, the glittering city and gambling stronghold in the Nevada desert, should not be missed when you rent a campervan and travel to the USA. The natural highlight par excellence is the famous Grand Canyon, most of which is located in Arizona and inspires with its unique scenery. And of course you should visit the state of California with its world-famous cities Los Angeles and San Francisco!

- Washington D.C.
- New York
- Boston River
If you are renting a campervan to explore the USA and especially the East, this route is perfect. Starting in Washington D.C., the capital of the USA, a visit to the White House is a must. Equally worth seeing and steeped in history is the Lincoln Memorial, dedicated to the 16\th President of the United States. The tour continues with the campervan through the USA to Baltimore. The National Aquarium promises exciting insights into the underwater world for the whole family, while The Walters Art Museum is a place for art and culture enthusiasts.
A detour to Philadelphia is worthwhile above all because of the Eastern State Penitentiary. The former prison is based on a medieval castle and dedicates a completely reconstructed cell to its most famous inmate Al Capone. In New York, one highlight tops the other: Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Central Park or Museum of Modern Art - the Big Apple offers countless attractions! The last stop is Boston: On the four-kilometer Freedom Trail through the city, you can explore all the important sights right away.
- Lake Charles
- New Orleans
Houston is the largest city in the state of Texas and is an ideal starting point for your campervan tour of the USA. If you drive from there to New Orleans, you can make your first stop in Beaumont to visit the Gator Country Adventure Park there with its 350 alligators, which will delight big and small animal lovers alike.
The 40 kilometres of natural sandy beaches on Holly Beach near the village of Lake Charles offer plenty of relaxation before you set off for Lafayette. There, the visit of the Acadian Village, a replica of a village from the late 18th century, which brings you closer to the history of the region, is worthwhile. Music is on the programme at the last stop: New Orleans is known as a jazz and blues stronghold, so the nightlife in the French Quarter with its live music bars should be enjoyed to the full. The National World War II Museum, on the other hand, is historically interesting.
