After waiting 7 hours to pick up our camper. It wasn't just the drawers that were faulty, but a few other things too. The valve for the black water was defective. The first time we emptied it, all the sauce ran directly over our hands as soon as we opened the lid. A call to the hotline after 45 minutes on the phone only resulted in them being able to fix it for us during an 8 hour repair, which unfortunately we didn't have time for. We then received an additional valve from our neighbouring camper. This then worked. However, we then discovered that neither grey nor black water was being drained completely, which meant that the camper started to stink catastrophically. In addition, the fridge was so overloaded with temperatures over 30 degrees that we regularly had 20 degrees in the fridge and had to dispose of $200 worth of food. For our part, we will never book a campervan through Cruise America again. For the price we paid, we really expected more.

Overall positive experience with Cruise America but several points to bear in mind: 1/ The motorhome was handed over very quickly: explanations were given in 2 minutes, the damage report took no account of any damage to the vehicle (so be careful! Insist on indicating all scratches and damage on the report!), and you have to collect all your options yourself without any information or explanation (kitchen pack, sheets and pillows, outdoor chairs, etc.). Cruise America doesn't put anything in your RV, so it's up to you to manage and insist on getting what you've paid for. Ditto: make sure the fittings are supplied! We were missing the black water drainage pipe, and had to ask twice to get it. 2/ Campervans are quite old. Ours had several water leaks, under the living room floor and at the back of the vehicle. In 3 weeks, we also had the fridge cut off 10 times (we had to restart it manually each time), a persistent problem with the alignment and a suspicious smell twice (propane?) which forced us to sleep with the windows open and turn off the gas. 3/ Customer service isn't very responsive, they didn't help us, we hope they'll be more helpful if we have a big problem. In conclusion, if you're flexible, adaptable and alert to the quirks of Cruise America, you'll have a superb experience!

The vehicle had not been cleaned when it was handed over. The dishes were mouldy, the toilet was dirty, the cooker was greasy and the floor had not been cleaned for a long time. The sink drain was broken. Replacement of the vehicle was necessary. We lost 1 day as a result. The replacement vehicle was almost as dirty.

It is inconvenient to be allowed to collect the RV on the rental day only after 13:00. In contrast, on the last day of the period, the RV has to be handed in no later than 11:00. The RV looked a bit old-fashioned in terms of furnishings. The technical condition of the RV was very good, no comments.

Our 6th time with El Monte. Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes unlucky. The RV was not properly cleaned inside and the condition was only OK after 44k miles. The fridge was battery operated and therefore not well suited for primitive campgrounds (the engine always has to be started). However, El Monte was very accommodating, which surprised us in a very positive way.

The briefing by the technician in San Francisco was excellent. The documentation of the data was correct in the written version, but stored differently in the computer system. This turned out to be the case when it was handed in. However, the paper format was then respected on delivery. Recommendation: always take a photo of the generator status on departure. The refrigerator and the air conditioning showed temperature problems after only three days. Fridge/freezer compartment broke down several times. Food spoilt accordingly. The air conditioning was no longer usable at all in the last three days. Presumption that the coolant had not been topped up accordingly. Not so nice at 38 degrees outside temperature. The return in Denver went smoothly and was very friendly. All in all, the motorhome was in excellent condition. We had booked a 23 feet Womo and received a 25 feet motorhome, with slideout and awning.

Rented from EL MONTE SFO branch and returned to LAX branch. The vehicle is noisy, the finish is crude, it's far from top of the range. But it does the job, and the value for money is decent. The 2 rental agencies are top-notch, the staff are pleasant, and the check-in and drop-off processes are pretty straightforward.

Vehicle in good condition, everything works, the only minus point is the abnormal consumption of the petrol engine, which is 22 - 23 L / 100km, which is no longer up to date for the size of the vehicle. Otherwise, solar panels on the roof, compressor refrigerator, etc. everything is fine.

We spent 2 weeks in our campervan from El Monte, that was our first experience with RV. The pickup process was smooth and the personnel was very helpful and honest. They offered us to thoroughly document scratches on the camper body and not to buy unlimited generator use according to our needs which was very pleasant to us. The trip was wonderful and it was really worth it. Our RV was clean and everything functioned very well, the interior was not new but in a very good condition. The only downside was mattress quality but it didn’t affect my sleep. The cost of fuel was as expected., 20-22 l/100 km but the gas can be pretty cheap there 3-4$/ga lThe drop off was quick. The price was better on camperdays then on official ElMonte website. We are still waiting for the deposit, hope everything will go also smooth.

As I understand it, Britz is a kind of subsidiary of Roadbear. You can't choose a vehicle, but get one that is currently available. But it is cheaper and there is a restriction of max. 2 adults + 2 children (capacity of the smallest camper in the fleet). As a small family we did well with it, had a large camper in good Roadbear quality (more expensive than other providers, but newer campers and the service is right). I would do it again.

Insurance did not cover everything despite the high price. The kit we paid for did not include a tablecloth, outdoor chairs or a coffee machine. The caravan was new but the furniture inside was of poorer quality and you had to be careful.

Super nice staff and the booking to drop-off via mighty camper was really great. You get the El Monte service and our vehicle wasn't really much older.

It's a bit too big for two people. We don't have a problem if there are a few scratches on it. But we can't keep an eye on them all when we pick it up. Now we're looking forward to the return?
