Which motorhome type is right for my trip?

Multiple comfortable beds and a touch of luxury make travelling in these vehicles truly special. Alcove motorhomes, with an additional bed above the driver's cab, are ideal for families with children. If you're planning an active holiday, choose a truck or a 4WD camper. The latter is even suitable for adventurous routes away from paved roads.

How our colleagues travel
For my first campervan trip in Australia, I booked a panel van – and got on really well with it. Despite its compact size, I always had plenty of space. For example, the bed could be easily converted into a seating area.
If a campervan is too small for our customers, I’m happy to recommend a semi-integrated motorhome. This model is similar to a full-size motorhome, but is still compact and easy to drive, even for beginners.
When we’re travelling around Scandinavia with the children, an alcove motorhome is the best choice for me. Our son loves the bed under the roof, and the large rear garage is really handy for everything you might need.
Our 4WD camper with a roof tent was exactly what we needed for the west coast of Australia. It meant we could spontaneously camp on the beach and drive into the outback without having to compromise.
When travelling in the US with friends, we swear by the alcove motorhomes from Cruise America. With a little practice, these vehicles are easy to drive in the US, even for beginners, and you have plenty of storage space.
Where would you like to go?
The right camper for every destinationWhich campervan models are rented the most in which countries? For single-track roads in the Scottish Highlands, a panel van is the perfect companion. Need more space but don't want to compromise on a compact size? Then a semi-integrated motorhome could be the right choice for you. By the way, this model is also very popular in Iceland! In the USA, the rule is: bigger is better. Here, alcove and fully integrated motorhomes are absolute favourites. And for the gravel tracks in South Africa, Namibia and the Australian Outback, 4WD campers with a roof tent make the most sense.
