North Wales and Snowdonia

Rather than taking a direct route like so many others, take the A494 to stop at the stunning Lake Bala and participate in some water sports. You can continue along the A494 to Snowdonia National Park whenever you hit the road. You can finish the route by driving to Anglesey before returning home via the A55.

Winnat’s Pass, Peak District

Snowdonia National Park
Snowdonia National Park stretches between Conwy and Gwynedd in the mountainous northwest of Wales. Snowdon is home to the highest mountain in England and Wales, 1085 metres tall. There are six very scenic routes to the top, varying in length and difficulty. If you don't feel you'd be able to hike it, there is the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which leaves from Llanberis and takes you to the top of the mountain.
