Very friendly and efficient service when picking up and returning the vehicle. The car was almost new and in top condition. Great to drive, good and practical equipment, a great bed, a practical outdoor kitchen, a powerful refrigerator, car, a Ford Ranger, great on roads and tracks, very satisfied overall.

Rented at very short notice and therefore already very expensive. However, the car offers much more comfort than we thought at the beginning.

Everything went really smoothly. Picking up the car was hassle-free; we were even able to collect it a bit earlier than planned in Adelaide. The car was clean, the induction was great, and the handover and explanation were a real help (the thl app is also top-notch). Returning the car in Sydney was just as hassle-free, though we had also booked insurance. In Sydney, the location is a bit tricky to get away from. You have to rely on Uber or a taxi here. All in all, brilliant – we’ll definitely do it again.

The vehicle was in good condition except for the faulty secondary battery: it was not possible to spend the night without an electrical connection, which meant that we had to find a campsite every evening.

First experience with a motorhome. The equipment was rudimentary, but effective. Surely a compromise for the weight of the vehicle compared to the size. There was enough space for 5 people. We would have liked a better reversing camera and a copy of the phone screen for the GPS...

Pick up in Adelaide went very well and the local team was very helpful, a few faults we discovered on handover were rectified immediately (but see below) - 5 stars. Return in Sydney a disaster - 1 star The car hire office in Sydney moved during our rental period, but we were not informed of this by either CamperDays or THL. THL claims the opposite, but I couldn't find an email anywhere, not even in spam. Apparently we were not the only ones with this problem. And why was the wrong station for the return specified in the contract if it was already clear that the shop was moving? The vehicle was basically OK and apparently in good condition, and any defects found on handover were rectified immediately. During the journey, we noticed other minor defects such as a missing lower door hinge, a broken hinge in a storage compartment and loose screws in the kitchen unit - these should have been fixed before the vehicle was rented out again, which is why we deducted a point for the condition of the vehicle. But the most important thing is that the vehicle was fun to drive and we also enjoyed travelling on smaller 4WD tracks for 3 weeks. We really liked the general concept of the vehicle with its outdoor kitchen. We also liked the sleeping area with the roof that can be opened up. The dimensions of the vehicle and the low height of 2.5 metres are ideal for some slopes, as we were able to drive under low trees, hanging branches and low bridges.

Basically, the tyres were fine. Unfortunately, it has to be said that the tyres were only just 2 mm before the control bar, i.e. they were actually worn. This was also partially noticeable in slightly wet conditions or when there was a lot of sand. We also noticed that a screw was stuck in one tyre, but there was (almost) no air in it😉 It is also a bit unpleasant that when you book and pay for a change of tyres, it turns out that there is no possibility of changing tyres on the planned route, but you are not told this in advance.

We noted one omission: there was no troubleshooting manual for common household items such as fridge, gas, air-conditioning, etc. By contrast, there was a ridiculously comprehensive technical description of the motorhome's engine, etc. We also reported this shortcoming to Apollo.

Flawless. Vehicle was in top condition with very low mileage. We had a blast. Only rented for 3 days, would have been fun to do a longer trip (and use more of the campervan's functions - for example we didn't cook anything). For 3 big guys the nightly cost to rent the campervan vs rent a car and get 3 hotel rooms was very economical.
