Downloading offline maps

My tip: download your route in advance from Google Maps or apps like maps.me as an offline map. That way, your smartphone will still guide you safely to the next campsite, even if you briefly lose signal.

Disable automatic updates

If you don’t have an unlimited data plan, you should disable automatic app updates and cloud backups (e.g. for your holiday photos) in your mobile settings before setting off. It’s better to let these data-intensive background processes run in the evening when your campervan is connected to the free Wi-Fi at the campsite.
